Y6/5 Extreme Weather Reports

As part of our ‘Extreme Earth’ topic, Year 5 were tasked with creating their own extreme weather reports. Firstly, we worked in teams to research a news-worthy weather event; we used the iPads, reference books, online news reports and weather forecasts to ensure our research was thorough!

We then used our research to draft scripts in groups. To keep the reports informative and entertaining, we planned: pieces to camera, footage and photographs depicting the weather events and even interviews with witnesses and experts.

Once our scripts were complete, we were ready to film. Working in teams, we used iPads and green technology  to record our pieces to camera and interviews.

After filming, we used ‘Green Screen by Do Ink’ app to change the backgrounds and ‘iMovie’ to edit our clips together and create our finished reports.
