School to School Support

National Leader of Education (NLE)

Rebecca Gittins is a Director of the Nottingham Schools Trust. She is also an accredited NLE – a National Leader of Education. She has supported and raised standards in several schools in Nottingham city. Ms Gittins also mentors new Headteachers in Nottingham City to ensure they stay in the local area to raise standards for Nottingham children.

Specialist Leaders of Education

All members of our Senior Leadership team are Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs) Mr Cobbe leads on Maths, Mrs Weatherall – English, Mrs Wildman – Phonics and Ms Riley – EYFS. They lead the network in NST and offer school to school support for city children across a wide variety of schools.

UNIVERSITY RESEARCH SCHOOL

We are keen to share and further develop our practice through working with several universities in the region. Masters studies have been completed in Oracy, Teaching for Creativity, the Art of Belonging, children in nature and creative play.

Welbeck was successful in winning a £500,000 Art Council bid to develop teaching for creativity with 12 city schools. This was a three-year project and paved the way for the new curriculum to be announced in 2026.
