Children's University 2019
At our school, we believe that learning goes far beyond the classroom. Our Children’s University programme gives pupils the chance to explore new interests, discover hidden talents, and begin thinking about their future in an exciting and meaningful way.
As part of our offer of ’50 Things To Do at Welbeck’, children are invited to apply for a range of special courses that sit outside the usual curriculum. This process helps them make choices about what they enjoy, take ownership of their learning, and experience what it feels like to apply for opportunities in the real world.
Our courses are led by a range of experts, both from within school and the wider community. Pupils work with experienced staff, as well as professionals from local businesses and universities, who share their knowledge and real-life experiences. This gives children a valuable insight into different careers and helps bring their future aspirations to life.
Once enrolled, pupils take part in engaging sessions that might include creative arts, science and technology, or practical life skills. These experiences encourage curiosity, build confidence, and show children that learning can take many different forms.
The degrees lasted 4 weeks culminating in a graduation ceremony at the end.
