Outdoor Learning

Outdoor Learning has always been a feature of Welbeck Primary school, with our proximity to the local park and our links to the community gardens, but with the recent development of our own ‘Forest Garden’ it has become embedded within our curriculum. A high-quality outdoor learning experience encourages children to move out of their comfort zones, allows them to take risks and creates resilience all of which equip them for the future that lies ahead.

Careful planning and implementation, across the curriculum and Key Stages, will ensure that Outdoor Learning works in conjunction with the time spent in the classroom. The Forest Garden will provide opportunities to utilise the outdoors creatively to enhance what has already been learnt and teach new practical skills.
