By the time our pupils leave us, we aim to equip every child with the skills needed to make positive contributions to both the school and wider society.

We have a talented, dedicated and passionate team who work hard to plan and provide an ambitious and engaging curriculum where children are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning. Oracy is integral to every lesson and leads to confident and coherent speakers. Every child completes the ’50 Things to do at Welbeck’ commitment providing them with invaluable experiences to develop them as global citizens who will contribute to a better society in their future.

Standards are high. We have high expectations of all learners and provide intensive support ensuring all children including those with additional needs make good progress. In addition to academic success, we are committed to identifying, developing and nurturing individual talents so that all children achieve their full potential. Therefore, all children at Welbeck Primary are placed on the Gifted and Talented register.

We believe a team approach with parental support is crucial to the success of a child’s progress. We provide a range of opportunities for parents/carers to engage with their child’s learning as well as intensive family support if needed.

In summary, children at Welbeck thrive during their time here. We have earned our excellent reputation and ‘Outstanding’ status by investing in the whole community and our ‘Never settle for anything less than our best’ motto is now a much-used phrase in and out of school.

Ms Rebecca Gittins

Headteacher
